We are encompassed by unprecedented times dominated by the Ukraine war, the pandemic, the new geopolitical situation, government intervention, demographic change, shorter and unstable economic cycles and global climate change. All these topics have implications for HR in the international context including forced competition, particularly from Asia, hence driving companies to enhance innovation technology and to boost company performance. Stakeholders as well as changing regulations all over the world also have an impact on international HRM.
On successfully completing this module, students will walk away with skills that will enable them to identify and synthesise relevant information in these uncertain times in the international environment. This involves analysing, contemplating and reflecting on the consequences of every decision in the international HR setting. Developing international HR strategies to foster creativity and to create a culture that boosts success and manoeuvres companies through turbulent times, taking people and culture into consideraition, shall be emphasised.
